Hey there, could you show a script for auto homing, but the machine will back off the limit switch by 1 inch (or any distance).?
I have a way to do it if you're using Mach3's standard Homing sequence instead of the RefCombination as shown in this video. Email me at sunny5rise@gmail.com and I'll send it to you to try out.
You may wish to edit the home screen too, to enable the digitise button LED on the main screen when you test it before using, saves switching screens.
Absolutely!
@@sunny5rising Sounds like the subject of a video, right up your street.
Definitely. I actually started the works on making a video about this a little while ago, then had a computer crash. Thank you for the reminder. :) By the way, I also have the Digitize LED on my Offsets screen as well. Makes life easier.
@@sunny5rising Great idea, I hadn't thought of that, I may have some time later to add that.
Nice sir..😊😊
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.
Really........ You go to music........... What a fricking asshole
I have got a problem. I have got an input signal and the sript works. But if I run Autolevel, the z-does not stop. I have a USB controller board. What can I try to get the sript working correctly?
Just to be clear... My Z-Script is for helping to set Z-zero, not Auto leveling. Do you use a separate script for Auto leveling? Just trying to understand your question.
@@sunny5rising Oh, ok. I understand you. Yes, I have a separat Auto leveling script for all axes. I wrote you an e-mail. Hopefully you can help me.
An easier way is to wire them all in series that way you use less wire and only need one input .
Yes, that will also work. If, however, you want to use the RefCombination() Function (as seen in one of my later videos), you will need the individual inputs for the homing switches.
@@sunny5rising You don't need individual inputs for homing. I have 2 CNC's set up that way and I can Reference All Home with single input.
Yes, you are correct. We agree. I was talking about RefCombination, not RefAllHome.
@@sunny5rising I haven't tried setting up that way.
i know this video is old af, but i was wondering if you had a script that would soft-start a DC motor that's attached to the BOB and uses PWM (pin 1, not the 0-10v header)
Not quite sure. I'd have to learn about it and experiment with it.
Hi, is it the same way with AC Servo?
Not exactly sure since I haven't messed with them.
hello, great video is very interesting, I downloaded the install scripts and I have 3 scripts that do not work. I have mach3 3.043.66 First mistake "Y positive" error line 121 type mismatch" the second "X positive error line121 type mismatch" and third "external center error line 286 type mismatch" do you know why Thanks a lot
jean, if you would... email me at sunny5rise@gmail.com and tell me the script versions (Revisions) that you are having trouble with and well work to resolve the issues.
Thanks for this informative video! Question: when I try to run the script, my z-axis goes upwards, not down. What should I change?
You're welcome. If you haven't tried both the v12 and v22 scripts, give the other version a try and see if the issue persists. If it does, let me know and we'll figure it out.
@@sunny5risingFor some reason, I had to add -1: Code "#100=" &VarMaxDistance * -1 Now it works perfectly!
Excellent! Glad you got it working.
Hello. Can you help me with the change spindle section in the Macros section? I want to use the A-axis as the spindle.
Hello. If you can, email me at sunny5rise@gmail.com and send photos or a small video of what you are trying to achieve. I may be able to help. I have kind of used my Rotary axis as a spindle before, but it was really just a GCode programming trick. Depending on what you are doing, this may help you too.
Hi charles I would like you to help me out please when I try auto tool zero it gives me an error saying error on line 1 argument not optianal hope you can help.by the way using z touch scrip v11
Hello. For v11, the first 8 lines are comments, so make sure the first character in each of the eight lines is an apostrophe ( ' ). If that doesn't solve the issue, links to versions 12 and 22 are linked in the description.
I have been trying to get my Z probe working for months and finally your code did the trick. Thanks for the great video and explanation😃.
Excellent! Glad it worked for you.
Thanks!
You are welcome and thank you!
Worked like a champ on on older Mach3 equipped Syil S7. It doesn't have an Automatic Tool Changer, so this will speed things up immensely. Thanks for posting this.
Excellent! Glad it's working out for you.
Hola... Tengo un placa mach3 la roja.. cargó el scrip y me dan error en la línea 54 ... También al inicio no puedo detectar automáticamente la 'probe ' si me puedes ayudar
Hello Oscar. If you will, copy the text from the script you are using and paste it into a text file. send it to me (sunny5rise@gmail.com). I'm thinking something in the script is different than my originals. Line 54 should not be erroring out if it is the original... (Message "" 'CLEAR STATUS LINE TEXT). Also, tell me which Mach3 version number you are using.
does external center covers outside diameter of a circle?. i noticed internal center does have circle option
Helo Rengan, the external center script can be used to check diameter, i just didn't program it to do it automatically (for safety reasons). To check diameter, run the X-Span, then the Y-Span. This will center the probe. After that, again run the X-span (making sure to not move the Y axis when resetting the probe up), then check the X-Span reading. Run the Y-Span again (making sure not to move the X axis) and take its reading. Those last two span readings will show the diameter on their particular axes.
@@sunny5rising thank you sir for the explanation
Brilliant tutorial. The model i need to replace the motor in is actually the one you took the motor from to use. The dogs chewed through the electrical cable unbeknownst to me and the motor blew😖
Oh wow. If I remember correctly, the inside of both machines weren't very different from each other. Just make sure you attach the wires to the correct prongs on the new motor (matching them with the old motor's orientation) ... just in case it's not labeled.
The script that was given to me with my CCM (Cheap Chinese Machine) never worked I tore up a bit trying. Your setup is awesome, it took a little trial and error to set it up the way i want it, but I would never been able to do that with out you toutering. You are a gentalman and a scholar Sir.

Thanks for commenting. I have learned that some systems do have trouble with my scripts, but most of those issues can be recoded and fixed.
In my 70th yr and low income, i just got HFT tire changer and Ebay bubble balancer. Having fun, and saving money. I cant get the balance perfect, but pretty good. Thanks for fun and informative video!
Keep having fun and thanks for commenting!
The center needs to be drilled out with a 3/8 bit where the point is but not to deep.
Excellent tutorials! After 5 years and far away (Sweden), Your work is still seen and appreciated. And it works with USB-connected computers as well. Thank You very much, for changes for the better!
Thank you! Glad you find them useful.
Iv got everything working with my 3d probe 🎉 thanks for putting this video and scrips together it’s fantastic 🫡 I only have one question how do you speed up the z axis moving up after z have touched the plate? I see downfeed in the script but not up or positive speed? Thanks.
Hello cclouds. Glad you find the video and scripts useful. I'm assuming you are using Rev22 of the Z Script. Within this script you'll see that line 114 is Code "G91 G1 Z#102 F[#101*2]". With the feed code F[#101*2], #101 is the Feedrate Variable and the *2 (times 2) is the multiple. You can edit the *2 to *3 or *4 (or whatever multiple you wish) to increase the up speed. Example : Code "G91 G1 Z#102 F[#101*4]". Hope that helps you out.
Ye managed to find it. Thanks again for all the help.
you cant trust the structural integrity of crappy cars in the midwest
Hi Sir, I can see you are an expert..! I hope you can help me..! Can you demystify some of my worries..? There is lot of confusion regarding the reliability and consistency of mach3 as it is PC based and USB or Parallel port.! Lot of people say that it may behave funny in the middle of a project and it may ruin the entire job..! which can be caused by slight voltage spikes from nearby high power accessories like VFD or Motors. And relying fully on PC for CNC operation is not recommended. I am so worried about all these..! I am not sure how much immunity against such HF-RF Noise shielded cables can offer..! But dedicated CNC controllers like Masso and RichAuto are insanely priced.! and I don't have access to USA or Euro Based other CNC Controllers here..! People have also mentioned that If signal voltage is high (24v or higher) It can withstand such interferences..! But mach3 operates at 5V only..! So there is high chance of signal contamination..! Is that a huge concern..? Mach3 Boards are affordable. But If I cant use them for longer projects , then there is no point in spending money for all the parts which are still expensive..! I am so worried..! Secondly, I have seen in videos that The baud rate that mach3 communicates at , is not adequate to drive powerful servos..! ! So Only steppers at low power application is possible with Mach3. That is so discouraging..! Can you help me?
Sasa sasa. Hello. To date, I have had no problems using Mach3 with my CNC. My only experience with Mach3 is with the machine I currently use (been about 6 or so years) and helping others (with programming and such). My particular setup is a small 3020 CNC using the parallel port. The operating system on my CNC's PC is Windows XP. I mainly do Engraving with it, so my run times are not very long (probably up to 15 minutes at most). I have not experienced the issues/concerns you have mentioned, so I do not have any information to help with noise interference, voltage concerns, or USB connected systems. There are other creators here on UA-cam that use Mach3 and have bigger machines and are running much longer programs than myself. Sorry I don't have more information for you.
How do you setup the voice in Mach3? I see there are some settings in the config for speech and wave files, but no information about how to use it. I did something similar to my 3D printer some years ago, video of it here; ua-cam.com/video/yVxZPbZO_mY/v-deo.html
RegPye, the only way that I have used the audio within Mach3 is by use of the internal script functions Speak() and PlayWave(), as they are used in my Z script here. The use of audio in your 3D Printer video is interesting. I would say the same could be done with Mach3 through either scripting alone, or with a combination use of scripting and Gcode. Depending on how you wanted to do it.
If you have a 3D Touch probe can you enter 0 for the touch plate size?
Yes. You can make 0 one of the three options or make it your default size.
Sorry Im not explaining myself properly. I have a 3-D probe with a tool change system so zero is the bottom of the spindle with no tool in it. I’m thinking if I put the length of the 3-D probe and it’s chuck in where the touch plate hight would be entered in the script it will work the same. If that makes sense? 😂
@@sunny5rising if you have a email or instagram or fb I can sent you a picture of what I’m trying to explain

Thank you. Hope the scripts help you out.
Where can we but tube hoses sir?
You should be able to find the Polyurethane and/or vinyl tubing at Amazon. It'll come as a roll, and you just cut it to the length you need.
can u draw a diagram to illustrate the wire connection?
have u magnetize the armature of dc generator? will current be generated in such dc generator?
Hi Charlie I’m quite new to Mach3 but I’ve managed to download and change the background and scripts everything is working fine apart from the external centre finder no matter what number I enter for how far to travel past the size of part I’ve entered it travel’s about 3” past both X and Y and I can’t seem to fix it can you advise please?
Hello neil, email me at sunny5rise@gmail.com . If possible, also send a short video of the issue.
Great video Charlie, in an unrelated topic that hopefully you or one of you viewers can explain to me is why when I use Mach 3 Lathe Turn, both the X and Z axis bog down very noticeably when the tool moves in one direction then back in the opposite direction only when backlash is enabled. When I use Mach 3 Mill with the same settings with the machine this does not happen. I have tried using different controllers and drives , triple checked each configuration setting in Lathe Turn without success; my theory is it is a programming issue.
I apologize for the late reply. I wish I had an answer for you, but I do not have a CNC lathe to test things out. Were you able to get the issue resolved?
No worries, I resolved the issue by using a NVCM controller board, I hope to make a video to show others my results, thanks.
Hi Charlie, best work is yours automated tool setting. I am beginner in that world, can I have your good scripts for update my selfmade cnc ? Thanks. Best regards
Hello. Yes, the link for the scripts are in the video description.
Can you insert the original piece that you took out and magnetize that? i want to turn mine into a generator for wind power motor.
Thank you so much, it works perfectly ! And indeed, it is very well explained.
Excellent! And thanks for the feedback.
Maybe I am in the wrong section but I want to know how much I need to beat myself up when I am bubble balancing using this method which I have now used for years on end thanks to none other than you. I really struggle with 245/45s on 7.5 inch rims using a HF manual tire changer. Not so much because of the process but the fact that I am supposed to be aligning the yellow mark on the tire with the valve stem. Adding the duckbill mod and clamps to the changer really helped but since the name of the game is precision I find that it is just too much for me (so far) to line up the yellow mark with the valve stem with a profile that low while focusing on getting the tire on the rim. As a result, I end up turning the tire after mounting it on the rim to make them line up which takes every ounce if strength in my body. It feels doable when I am doing it but my back pays for it for weeks on end in a few days. How much do I really need to focus on getting that yellow dot lined up with the valve stem? This is getting harder as I approach 50 but it really is that part which is bugging me. Does the yellow mark matter at all or is placement 100% mitigated due to this process? Having the yellow mark off does mess with my OCD though. Thanks once again for making it a better for the commoners and stubborn bastards as life gets tougher.
Hello James, you definitely do not need to beat yourself up over the yellow dot. Putting the yellow dot anywhere close to the valve stem is fine, and even THAT isn't truly important. That dot just means it's the lightest point of the tire... which can be lined up with the valve stem (which is expected to be the heaviest point of the wheel). If lined up, then you MIGHT use less weights when balancing, but that's the extent of the importance of it all. :)
Hi Charlie, the login link in the description no longer works. would you provide a new one? Thanks for sharing!
The links are now fixed. Thanks for the heads up.
hy, i wonder , i could hear a sizzzling noise. is the magentizer /demagnetiser safe to touch while operatin ? or can it only be done when u hold tools with a plastic handle ?
Why do people with real world experience, say static balancing produced better results with less vibration then computer... will have to try I guess!
When they balance my wheels at the shop my rims have like 5 pounds of dirty. A bubble balancer will do a better with a clean wheel than a dirty wheel on a modern machine.
I tried this on my machine and got a few errors on Mach3 v3.041. After reverse engineering the whole script I found out all I had to do was change my VarStandOff, VarGageThick and VarProbeDia to whole numbers, as "VCATCH" was returning the operation between these variables with a decimal point and mach3 apparently didn't know how to input decimal values into my xyz coordinates, the first time I tried it I got -28715 or something like that, good thing I have limit switches, cuz I sent it g0x0y0 before checking where the machine thought it was. I guess it could be easily fixed if you don't have a whole number diameter probe, but I don't want to read through VB script or Mach3 documentation right now. Thanks for sharing, Charlie!
Thank you. Sorry you had those issues, but glad you got it figured out.
Thanks to you, I've been able to use it very comfortably for the past few years, and I'm just now thanking you. Especially since I recently moved to mach4, there is nothing more special about it, and I miss the convenience of the Auto Tool Zero (Z Axis) you created in mach3. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the script.
BEST VACUUM EVER
I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.
Elmers glue and windshield washer solution about 4 oz will do the trick?
